Franklin State Bank

Meet Christie, Vice-President

Christie Larson

I grew up in the country on a small acreage and developed a passion for horses at a young age, and also established a breadth of experience throwing hay and picking rock, along with playing the trumpet in band and high jump in track. I grew up just outside of Decorah, Iowa which happens to also be the Norwegian Capital of the US, aka Nordic Fest. And yes, I sport black and gold as a diehard Iowa Hawkeye fan, go Hawks! After studying abroad in Hull, UK, I graduated from Winona State University with honors in 2009; accepted a position at McGladrey & Pullen as an auditor and earned my CPA, which remains active. I do enjoy the abundance of activities in the land of 10,000 lakes, which is why I chose to permanently change to a Minnesotan status. My life is always on the go with my husband and our son, Kal. We are often working on improvement projects together, spending most of our time outdoors, or traveling to visit family or to new places. If there’s a quiet moment, I’m typically wondering what Kal is getting into now? I will likely never outgrow my love for horses and competing; it is safe to say that I would rather be riding than be in the kitchen, and my cooking skills would reflect that . . . just ask my family! Ultimately, I enjoy adding value to what I am able to, aiming to be better every day. Walter Scott once said "For success, attitude is equally as important as ability." Being part of this community and the Franklin State Bank is a great extension to my sense of purpose.
